Practice

A Miaoli practice built for fintech ledgers under scrutiny

Oak Ledger Standards grew from examination prep work for remittance and wallet operators who needed auditors fluent in settlement cut-offs, float accounting, and the paperwork Taiwan reviewers actually request.

Origin

Why we stay close to the books

Fintech audits fail when they stay at policy level. Our early engagements showed that examiner questions land on the reconciliation owner’s desk, the suspense account aging report, and the exception log from last Tuesday — not on a risk heatmap.

We keep the practice deliberately small: senior reviewers who still sample batches themselves, write findings letters in plain language, and decline work outside payment, lending, and stored-value money paths.

Engagement manager · client liaison & fieldwork logistics

Coordinates on-site days, document rooms, and management debriefs. Keeps scoping honest about what two weeks of fieldwork can and cannot cover.

How we work with clients

We assign a named reviewer, agree a sampling plan before fieldwork, and share draft findings while the engagement is still open — so remediation can start before the final letter.

We do not sell annual retainers that quietly become unused hours. Follow-up checks are discrete engagements after findings are closed.

Values that show up in the letter

  • Evidence over assertion — if it is not in the binder, it is not done.
  • Cash and customer-money risk ranked above cosmetic policy gaps.
  • Language a board can read without a glossary.
  • Respect for operators under real licensing pressure in Taiwan.
